Evaluation of the Teach-to-One: Math Program (New Classrooms Innovation Partners)

Funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Investing in Innovation Fund (i3), CPRE-TC is conducting an evaluation of New Classroom’s Teach-to-One: Math program (formerly known as School of One) in Elizabeth, New Jersey. TTO is a personalized instructional model that assigns students to individualized content (tailored to a student’s set of skills), as well as to different learning platforms throughout the day (e.g., live instruction with a teacher, peer-to-peer groups, independent learning zones or small group collaborations). Using quasi-experimental methods, CPRE-TC will estimate the impact of TTO on student mathematics performance, while qualitative field work in the participating schools will identify elements of TTO that facilitate or impede teacher and student success.
